The Data Driven Innovation – Rome 2018 Open Summit is an initiative promoted by the Department of Engineering of the University of Roma Tre and Maker Faire Rome – The European Edition, with the scientific contribution of “Centro di iniziativa giuridica Piero Calamandrei” Foundation.

The Department of Engineering of University Roma Tre is a place of research, post-graduate training, technology transfer in all the fields of engineering, defined as a set of disciplines that contribute to the improvement of civil life and to the economic and social development, through conception, analysis, planning and realization, relied on a sound technical and scientific basis.
Maker Faire Rome is the largest European event dedicated to makers and innovation. It is organized by Innova Camera, a special unit of the Rome Chamber of Commerce, and combines business, science, technology, education, manufacturing, crafts, food and agriculture, gathering together the world of innovators, together with companies, start-ups, universities and research centres, addressing an audience of professionals, families, investors, students and makers. Now in its sixth edition, Maker Faire Rome 2018 will take place from 12 to 14 October.
For thirty years the “Centro di iniziativa giuridica Piero Calamandrei” Foundation has been actively involved in the field of fundamental freedoms and of legal, economic and social intersections of media, new technologies and telecommunications. The purpose of the Foundation is to develop innovative models and tools for promoting and protecting the human being.
The initiative is linked to the following Scientific Research Programs of Major National Interest:
– “Algorithmics for Massive and Networked Data“promoted by University Roma TRE as project leader, along with the Universities of Padua, Perugia, Pisa and Rome (“La Sapienza” and “Tor Vergata”);
– “Gendata: Driven Data-Genomic Computing”, promoted by Politecnico di Milano as project leader, along with the Universities of Bergamo, Milan, Turin, Bologna, Rome “La Sapienza”, Roma TRE, Salerno and Calabria.
