Detecting and predicting life events from online user activities
Life events represent important events in an individualâs life; examples include marriage, change of city/employer, graduation, birth of a child, retirement. Life events have a deep effect on the individualâs spending habits and purchase patterns. The ability of detecting (and, possibly, predicting) the occurrence of life events opens new up- and cross-selling opportunities for B2C companies. In this talk we will discuss the technical (and legal) feasibility of detecting and predicting life events through the analysis of online user activities (in particular: social media ones).
